Creamy, delicious Vegan Berry smoothie anyone? So easy to prepare and it needs only 6 ingredients. And yes, it is super healthy. Did I mention Delicious?? Ok I did!

I have been eating like crazy the past few days. To be honest it has been almost a month. It all started with Diwali with all the halwas and muruku and then before I could get back to my clean eating mode, it was thanksgiving and I was eating again. This week, I finally decided to put a stop to all that and I took the first step with this creamy vegan berry smoothie.

I used fresh organic strawberries and blueberries to make my smoothie, but frozen would work well too.

The secret ingredient in this creamy goodness is avocado! Yes, it is such a great fruit to add to your smoothies and milkshakes to make it creamy and thick without adding icecreams.

This summer I started craving the thick creamy mango milkshakes we used to get in India. If you haven’t tasted those, you are missing something!! Not only are the mangoes so fragrant there, but the milkshake itself is so thick and creamy. I tried to recreate the same thing here. I swapped the milk with almond milk to make it vegan, but it was still not creamy. I did not want to add banana, because then it would have a slight banana flavor and you wouldn’t get the intense mango flavor.

I was out of vegan icrecream. That’s when the idea of using avocado in the shake hit me. Bonus points, I could sneak in some to my little one who otherwise is not overly fond of avocados.  And it was exactly like I wanted it to be. Thick, creamy and soo yumm. Avocados do not have a distinct flavour, so they are perfect in such recipes.

Now this berry smoothie is very simple. I usually use whatever fruits I have. But for this smoothie here I have just used

strawberries

raspberries

avocado

maple syrup

almond milk (Any milk would work)

and coconut yogurt which is totally optional! ( I use this coconut yogurt)

Once you have all the ingredients ready, all you have to do is blend blend blend!! And if you have a NutriBullet like I do, your work is so much more simpler 🙂 I got this nutribullet as a gift from my hubby for valentine’s day and have been loving it so far. Although I could do this in my normal mixie I got from India, I find cleaning this is much easier and the attachments that come with it are helpful too.

Do you have a favorite healthy smoothie recipe? Let me know what it is in the comments. I would love to give it a try 🙂
