Looking for a fun holiday recipe? This Indian style Paneer tikka pizza is a great way to add a desi touch to your pizza cravings and is perfect for the holidays.
What a year this has been! I am so glad it’s coming to an end and I am pretty sure all of you will agree with me. While, this year might not have been perfect, I am thankful that it has brought our family closer than before. I have decided to make this holiday season as merry as possible for my 4 year old as she has handled the whole quarantine and staying at home situation really well. This desi style pizza is my little one’s favorite as it has two of her favorite things – Pizza and paneer!
If there’s one dish that is universally liked by everyone, it has to be pizzas. From kids to adults, everyone enjoys a good pizza and it is our family’s favorite as well. This Desi style Paneer tikka pizza is a great recipe to make when you are hit with sudden pizza cravings. And we like to eat pizza very often in our home, especially on friday nights when I don’t feel like spending a lot of time in the kitchen.

I like to experiment with different toppings in my pizza. Some of my favorites are caramalised onions, roasted veggies, fruits like pineapples, pear, olives, red bell peppers, jalapenos to name a few. And I always have Mezzetta’s products stocked as I love their flavors.
While a simple pizza with some good tomato sauce, cheese and toppings is really good by itself, a fusion pizza like this one is sure to be a hit amongst family and friends.
This Paneer tikka pizza or desi style pizzas are pretty common back home in India. I have fond memories of having these pizzas with my friends, especially when we had something to celebrate like birthdays or holidays.
I have kept this pizza recipe simple, so you can make this during this holiday season. It’s a fun recipe that can be served as an appetizer or main dish.
The best part is when you use ready made sauces and toppings like Mezzetta’s pizza sauce, jalepenos, roasted bell peppers, olives etc, you can have this ready in no time! Seriously guy’s, I can’t emphasise how having these items in your pantry makes life easier. Especially during the holiday season when we have a lot of things to do!
Naan pizza is a quick pizza made using naan bread, an Indian style bread usually made in tandoor ovens. But since it’s hard to find tandoor ovens here. So, you can make your naans in regular ovens or use store bought ready made naans like I have done in this recipe.
The star of this dish is the flavorful paneer which gets marinated in aromatic spices, thick yogurt and get’s baked/ grilled either separately or along with the pizza. (Vegans can substitute with Tofu)
I am a big jalepeno fan and can’t get enough of it in my pizzas. I also love roasted veggies like roasted bell peppers, roasted broccoli / cauliflower, caramalised onions etc. If you want to add broccoli, cauliflower, capsicum etc, you can marinate it along with the paneer to make it even more flavorful.
Also, Mezzetta’s jalepenos, olives and red peppers are great additons to this recipe. The jalepenos and olives balance the flavors beautifully, while the red peppers give a subtle sweetness. All of this combined with the aromatic paneer works really well in the recipe.

Let’s see how to do this delicious Paneer tikka Naan Pizza recipe
Simple Indian style Naan pizza with paneer, bell peppers, jalepenos using naan bread
Mix all the ingredients (except the oil) to make the paneer tikka marinade and set aside for mininum 30 minutes. Make sure to use thick yogurt for the marinade.
Heat a skillet and add the oil. When it becomes hot, add the marinated paneer and fry it for 2 to 3 minutes.
(Alternatively, you can bake the paneer directly along with the pizza)
Take the Naan bread and add a genrous layer of the pizza sauce.
Top with cheese, jalepenos, bell peppers, olives, paneer tikka pieces and bake at 350 F for 8 to 12 minutes depending on how crispy you want your pizza. (you can do the same in an airfryer as well)
Top with chopped cilantro, a sprinkle of tandoori masala or chaat masala and serve.
You can make the same with regular pizza dough. If you use a regular crust adjust the bake time accordingly.
